Joint control on Moldovan-Ukrainian border underway

The agreement on joint control on the Moldovan-Ukrainian border took effect on April 18, IPN reports.

“We started with the border crossing point Cuciurgan-Pervomaisk. In the morning I was informed that four cars had been subject to such control. We should act swiftly and extend this control at all the other border crossing points. It is for the benefit and comfort of the business entities and citizens of both of the states,” Prime Minister Pavel Filip stated in the April 18 meeting of the Cabinet.

In another development, the Premier said the first tender contest to choose the contractors that will build or rehabilitate the 1,200 km of roads in 1,200 communities was held.

“Our intention is to complete the bidding process by April 26 so that the companies that will be selected start work given that the weather permits already,” stated Pavel Filip.
