Russian servicemen participating in the Joint Peacekeeping Mission in Moldova’s Security Zone are brandishing the “Z” letter on their uniforms, which has become a symbol for Russia’s “special operation” in Ukraine. This was reported by the Moldovan Delegation to the Joint Control Commission.
The Moldovan authorities requested the Russian side to bring their uniforms in conformity with the peacekeeping mission’s status, the Reintegration Bureau said in a press release.
Much like in the past four weeks, the latest meeting of the Joint Control Commission was marked by heated debates, it was reported. This time, the reason was the temporary withdrawal of the Ukrainian peacekeepers from the mission.
The Commission also examined complaints alleging that Tiraspol is strengthening the infrastructure of the unauthorized “customs/border” checkpoints near Fârlădeni and Coșnița.
The meeting ended without the Commission adopting any decision. The next one is slated for April 7.
