JCC discusses problem of pensions of inhabitants of Cocieri and Molovata Noua

Moldova’s delegation to the Joint Control Commission (JCC) asked all the other components of the Commission, especially the representatives of Tiraspol, to help solve the problem of pensions of the residents of Cocieri and Molovata Noua villages of Dubasari district.

According to the representatives of Chisinau, the inhabitants of Cocieri and Molovata Noua are not provided postal services and are not brought pensions because the representatives of the so-called Transnistrian customs bodies do not allow the motor vehicles of the state-run “Moldova’s Post Office” to enter the region, worsening thus the socioeconomic situation in the two villages, IPN reports.

The co-chairpersons of the JCC agreed to solve the problem until the next meeting of the Commission. In the February 2 meeting, the Commission discussed a number of problematic situations in the Security Zone, including the illegal replacement of peacekeeping posts with posts of the Transnistrian police, continuous delay in taking over peacekeeping post No. 9 on the left bank of the Nistru by the Moldovan side and modification of powers of military commanders.

“Regretfully, both the Transnistrian side and the Russian delegation showed inability to have a constructive dialogue on the enumerated problems,” says the press release of Moldova’s delegation to the JCC.
