Japan supports democratic processes and European course of Moldova

The authorities in Tokyo firmly support the democratic processes and European course of the Republic of Moldova, investing important funds in country modernization and development projects, it was noted in the meeting of Japan’s new Ambassador to Moldova Yamada Yoichiro and secretary of state of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ruslan Bolbocean, IPN reports.

Ruslan Bolbocean enumerated the recent visits paid by President Maia Sandu and Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilița to Japan, noting that these had a significant impact on the strengthening of the Moldova-Japan relationship at multiple levels, primarily the commercial-economic level, and on the promotion of Moldova as a destination for Japanese investments.

The Moldovan diplomat appreciated the subsistent assistance provided by Japan to Moldova for concrete projects and for the benefit of citizens from different localities of the country.

Ambassador Yamada Yoichiro underlined the priorities of his agenda as head of the diplomatic mission in Chisinau and assured that he will make effort to advance the Moldovan-Japanese dialogue in areas of common interest and to promote mutually advantageous cooperation in political, economic and academic circles.

Yamada Yoichiro is a career diplomat and an expert in European policies with a rich professional experience, including as a professor at one of the most famous universities in Japan, Ritsumeikan University.
