Japan offers humanitarian assistance to Moldova flood victims

The Government of Japan has provided about US$90,000 worth of emergency humanitarian assistance (generators and water purifiers) for mitigation of the consequences of floods in Moldova. The assistance was handed over to the Moldovan authorities on August 12 by Japan’s Ambassador to Moldova based in Kiev, Mutsuo Mabuchi, Info-Prim Neo reports. “The Government of Japan decided to offer emergency assistance for the victims of floods in reply to the request made by the Government of Moldova, given the friendly relations between Japan and Moldova,” the ambassador said. The generators and water purifiers will be distributed to the local public authorities so that they can use them to liquidate the consequences of floods.
