Japan is an important investor and trading partner that supports the democratic processes and the European path of the Republic of Moldova, Deputy Prime Minister Mihai Popșoi, Minister of Foreign Affairs, stated in a meeting with Japan’s Ambassador in Chisinau Yamada Yoishiro, IPN reports.
The discussion centered on topics related to the security and economic situation in the region, caused by the Russian Federation’s ongoing war against Ukraine, and also on the challenges faced by the Republic of Moldova.
“I thanked Mr. Yoishiro Yamada for Japan’s substantial assistance to our country for multiple projects to develop and strengthen the state’s capacities, especially in such areas as medicine, energy efficiency, agriculture, education. We agreed to continue the cooperation between our countries,” said Mihai Popșoi, being quoted in a press release of the MFA.
