Lieutenant-Colonel Daichi Sakamoto is the new military attaché accredited for the Republic of Moldova, with residence in Kiev. He was presented to Minister of Defense Eugen Sturza by Japan’s Ambassador in Chisinau Masanobu Yoshii on March 28, IPN reports.
Masanobu Yoshii said Japan is interested in developing a partnership that would benefit both of the armies, the role of the military diplomat being vital in this regard, it is said in a press release of the Ministry of Defense.
Eugen Sturza informed the two officials about the current stage of the military reform, with emphasis on the Professional Army program, the development of the body of sub-officers, sergeants and soldiers, the participation by the National Army in peacekeeping operations and other activities staged by the Ministry of Defense.
