The Căuşeni district hospital will be equipped with ultrasonography equipment worth over $40,000. The money is being awarded by the Government of Japan under the Kusanone Human Security Grant Program.
The Ambassador of Japan to the Republic of Moldova, Yamada Yoichiro, signed the grant agreement with Alexandru Cojocaru, director of the Căuşeni District Hospital. “Japan supports Moldova in its efforts to achieve stability and prosperity through democracy, the rule of law and resilience to external threats. We also fully support Moldova’s aspirations to join the European Union. That is precisely why, three weeks ago, our government proposed and the parliament approved an additional assistance package for Moldova in the amount of approximately 27 million dollars”, the ambassador said.
The Japanese diplomat also said that it is a joy for him and his colleagues to complete the year 2022 with a new project. This year marked the thirtieth anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Japan and Moldova. And just as in the past, Japan’s representatives will continue to work for a good cooperation with the Ministry of Health.
The Kusanone program was launched in the Republic of Moldova in 2008. To date, Japan has offered $6.8 million in non-reimbursable funding for 80 development projects.
The Căuşeni District Hospital project is the eighth approved in the Japanese fiscal year 2022, and the total amount for these projects exceeds $490,000.
