January-February industrial output at about 4bn lei
The industrial companies of all patterns of ownership over January-February this year manufactured products to the value of 3.813,4 billion lei in current prices, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting the National Bureau of Statistics. Compared with January-February 2009, the industrial production index was 104.1% in comparable prices. This index in February this year was 103.4% on last February.
The production output in the processing industry increased by 1.8%, while in the energy sector – by 11.4%.
Statistics show production of tobacco in the period rose 2.4 times, constituting 2.9% of the total production volume, of wine – by 30.2% (5.7%), of distilled alcoholic drinks – by 27.5% (2.1%), of cacao and confectionery – by 20.3% (1.8%), of cardboard and paper – by 16.1% (1.4%), of drugs and pharmaceutical products – by 10.6% (0.6%), of clothes - by 8.3% (10.0%), etc.
At the same time, the output in the extractive industry fell by 63.6%, in the metallurgical industry – by 43.4%, while the production of wooden articles – by 43.0%, of mineral water and soft drinks – by 25.8%, of rubber and plastic items – by 24.7%, of glass, concrete and plaster objects – by 22.9%, etc.
