January 10 - Energy Saving Day: CNED recommendations

On January 10, the world marks Energy Saving Day, highlighting the importance of responsible energy use, as explained by the National Center for Sustainable Energy (CNED), IPN reports.

According to CNED, every kilowatt saved not only leads to lower bills but also reduces environmental impact and represents a vital step toward a sustainable future.

By saving energy, individuals can help reduce carbon emissions and combat climate change. This also preserves natural resources for future generations and enhances energy efficiency.

CNED’s Recommendations for Saving Electricity:

Turn off lights and appliances when not in use.

Use LED bulbs and energy-efficient devices.

Consider and invest in renewable energy solutions for your home or business.

Since mid-December 2024, an energy state of emergency has been declared in Moldova, including the Transnistrian region. Today, the state of emergency in the Transnistrian region was extended by 30 days.

In this context, authorities in Chișinău have repeatedly called on consumers to conserve electricity. To save energy, local authorities have turned off streetlights, and businesses have reduced decorative lighting by 30%.
