James D. Pettit is the new Ambassador of the United States to Moldova. The U.S. Embassy in Chisinau posted on the Internet a video where the new ambassador presents himself in Romanian and Russian, IPN reports.
“Hello, Moldova! My name is James Pettit, and I am honored to be the new U.S. Ambassador to your country. I grew up in an agricultural town in Iowa and has worked as a diplomat for over 30 years. I studied and worked in the former Soviet Union and appreciate the difficult path covered by Moldova after gaining independence. My country wants to continue to cooperate with you,” said the new Ambassador.
He noted that the United States and Moldova cooperated in many fields. “As Ambassador, I look forward to strengthening the relationship between our two countries,” stated James D. Pettit.
James D. Pettit is married and has two daughters. His predecessor William H. Moser served since May 2011.
