IX Festival of Ethnic Minorities to take place Sept. 20
The central park in Chisinau will host, on Sunday, September 20, the Ninth Festival of Ethnic Minorities, which will bring together around thirty ethnic-cultural organizations, Info-Prim Neo reports.
Nina Stratulat, the head of the municipal division for internethnic relations, told the ordinary City Hall’s meeting on Monday that the goal of the Festival is “to revive, develop and popularize the cultures and the arts of the ethnic minorities living in the Republic of Moldova, to familiarize the society with the multinational cultural heritage, and to create conditions for interaction between ethnicities”.
Whereas last year the Festival brought together twenty-three organizations, this year twenty-seven organizations have already announced their intention to participate. All of them have been promised financial support from the municipality.
“We must take the preparations for such a holiday like the Festival of Ethnic Minorities to a higher level”, stated Mayor Dorin Chirtoaca.
Ninety-six ethnic-cultural organizations are registered with the Bureau for Interethnic Relations.
