Moldovan athlete Ivan Corshunov has won the gold medal at the World University Championships held in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, in the academic rowing event, IPN reports.
The rower finished the 2 000-meter race on the first position of the winner’s rostrum with the time of 6:52:35, ahead of Poland’s Piotr Plominski (6:53:99) and France’s Yoann Lamiral (6:59:43).
In 2018, Ivan Corshunov also represented the Republic of Moldova at the Youth Olympic Games in Buenos Aires, Argentina, where he took sixth place, and also in the simple academic rowing event.
