MP Iurie Reniță informed that he was summoned to the Anticorruption Prosecutor’s Office as a witness after he presented recordings of last year’s meeting of President Igor Dodon, the then leader of the Democratic Party Vlad Plahotniuc and Plahotniuc’s right hand Sergey Yaralov to the Prosecutor General’s Office. A criminal case was started based on that footage, IPN reports.
The MP said he reiterated the requests contained in his application of May 21, namely to check the authenticity of the captures and to merge the recordings presented by him and the similar recordings that appeared in the public sphere. He makes reference to the existence of new evidence for reviewing the decision to drop the case of alleged acts of corruption adopted by the Anticorruption Prosecutor’s Office in March.
In the middle of May, Iurie Reniță published a video with the same protagonists. In this, Vladimir Plahotniuc hands over a black bag to President Igor Dodon. The latter said then that the video was made-up. At the start of June, MPs Iurie Reniță and Lilian Carp presented new footage of last year’s meeting with the same protagonists. Reniță said he received the videos through email.
