The videos of the discussion between Igor Dodon and Vladimir Plahotniuc reached MP Iurie Reniță through the agency of the Parliament’s mailbox. He said he came into possession of the memory stick with the videos last week, without this being accompanied by a message. So, he does not know who the sender was, IPN reports.
“I saw the approaches of some of the politicians, encyclopedic experts who pay attention to this purely technical aspect, not to the content of the message that I presented. Each member of Moldova’s Parliament has a mail container where documents are left. The access is free and is not limited,” Iurie Reniță stated in the talk show “Black Box” on TV8 channel.
The MP said he asked the Prosecutor General’s Office to pronounces on the authenticity of those videos and on legal aspects.
“My goal wasn’t to give a legal appraisal. That’s why I said that I do not intend and it is not my right and I respect this separation of powers and the prosecution service should deal exclusively with legal aspects. I, as a politician, have this duty to present a political message. I will make approaches to the PGO so that this issue is clarified. Evidently, I will not stop at that public presentation. I will ask, in accordance with the law on the status of MP, to check things so that the legal procedures are respected,” he noted.
Iurie Reniță said there were sufficient political reasons and interest for making those videos public. “It is not for the first time that Igor Dodon is suspected of acts of corruption. I’m no way in the post of a prosecutor. I’m an MP, politician and diplomat and I pronounce on these aspects. Dodon and Plahotniuc, and Yaralov and others of their corrupt gang appeared not for the first time in those videos. It is a subject of maximum topicality and of social and political interest,” stated the MP.
