Iurie Nastas showcases exhibition at OSCE headquarters

The exhibition of painter Iurie Nastas, was inaugurated at the headquarters of the OSCE Mission to Chisinau on February 23. The exhibition includes 40 works, several of them being put up for sale. The paintings cost between EUR 150-3000. The painter says the message of his surrealist paintings can be understand differently by everyone, but he considers that the dominant idea is related to the cosmos and inner world. This is the first personal exhibition of the painter. His works were previously displayed in joint exhibitions presented by the Painters’ Union of Moldova in Italy, USA, France, and Turkey, where he has sold almost all of his works. Iurie Nastas graduated from the Graphics and Painting Faculty and is a member of Painters’ Union of Moldova. According to the representative of the Mission, Antonia de Meo, OSCE Mission organises these kinds of exhibitions for several years. At start – due to the fact that several members of the mission were personally interested in arts, afterwards these events became traditional. The criteria for selecting the painters are formal because the only requirement is that the paintings fit the professional atmosphere of the mission. Unofficially, the Mission tries to promote the works, as the pricelists of the paintings are also displayed on the halls of the Mission. About 35 exhibitions were organised in the headquarters of the OSCE Mission during the last two years.
