Iurie Muntean: They don’t have staff and are unable to propose new Cabinet

We will not have the current Cabinet replaced as the PAS does not have the capacity to create a new government team, said Iurie Muntean, one of the leaders of the Civic Congress Party. According to the politician, the government experiences a serious shortage of staff and only some of the Cabinet members will be therefore substituted, IPN reports.

Iurie Muntean, who is a member of the Executive Committee of the Civic Congress Party, noted that the whole Cabinet should have been dismissed following the scandal that derived from the hacking of Telegram accounts. However, this will not happen as the current government is unable to attract upright and skillful persons to the team.

“This government is unable to generate ideas and to organize something. A plan for replacing the Cabinet is needed and this should be implemented quickly. I don’t think they can replace the Government as they don’t have staff. They do not have now a candidate for the post of minister of environment. This post is held on an interim basis by the minister of agriculture, but the Ministry of Agriculture is the antipode of the environmental sector. Do you imagine that they can present a new team to the country? They are experiencing a pressing shortage of staff. No one wants to have relations with this government. They don’t have specialists, except for so-called experts of civil society,” Iurie Munean stated in the program “Résumé” on RliveTV channel.

Moreover, according to the politician, the protests mounted in central Chisinau help the Shor Party increase its popularity and also help the ruling party improve its popular approval rating. The Party of Action and Solidarity is advantaged by the existence of a discredited opposition like the Shor Party.

“It is a kind of duo in the case of the protests. Shor is advantaged by such protests, while the government is advantaged by such an opposition of entertainers and clowns. I refer to Shor, not to the people who come to protest with the most sincere intentions. The government improves its image and strengthens its positions through these protests. The protests are staged to convey a political message. They should have objectives and should gradually deliver particular results. What we see now is only a circus show, not protests,” stated Iurie Muntean.

Earlier, the leaders of the Shor Party announced that the antigovernment protests will continue until the PAS government and President Maia Sandu resign and snap parliamentary and presidential elections are held. According to the police, the protest mounted by the Shor Party on November 13 involved 3,600 persons. For their part, the protest organizers said that about 60,000 people took part in the protest.
