The initialing of the Association Agreement means guaranteeing of Moldova’s road to the EU, Prime Minister Iurie Leanca said in the evening of November 29 in the Great National Assembly Square of Chisinau, where a concert was held to celebrate the initialing of the Association Agreement with the EU in Vilnius, IPN reports, quoting a communiqué from the Government’s press service.

“Our country became better known in the world and I’m very glad that the event by which we made ourselves noticed is 100% positive. We got ourselves noticed by not hesitating, by keeping our promises and by the fact that we showed very clearly where we are going,” he stated.

Iurie Leanca said that Moldova is heading for better living conditions for everyone, for building a society where the people will feel respected and where they would want to see their children and grandchildren growing up. He thanked the people for their support and promised that they will not be disappointed.

The Association Agreement signed by Moldova with the EU in Vilnius provides for the creation of a Free Trade Area.
