Prime Minister Iurie Leanca will pay a one-week visit to Germany, starting with July 9. In Berlin, he will meet with German Chancellor Angela Merkel. The announcement is contained in Number 8 of the Government’s online journal “Infogov”, IPN reports.
After the meeting, the two officials will make statements for journalists. Afterward, Iurie Leanca will take part in a dinner with Angela Merkel.
A business forum will be held in Berlin on the occasion of the Premier’s visit. The meeting’s objective is to extend the direct German investments to Moldova and to facilitate the expansion of bilateral trade from this autumn, after the creation of the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area.
There will be signed a framework agreement on Moldovan – German cooperation in development. It will create the preconditions needed for increasing the non-reimbursable financial assistance from the people of Germany for sustainably developing Moldova’s economy, supporting vocational education and decentralization and for implementing water supply and sewerage projects in Moldova’s settlements.
The last time Iurie Leanca met with Angela Merkel in Berlin at the end of May, together with the Prime Minister of Ukraine and Georgia. The two countries signed the Association Agreement with the EU on June 27, alongside Moldova.
