Prime Minister Iurie Leanca will have a meeting with the Transnistrian leader Yevgeny Shevchuk in September. In a news conference, the Premier told the journalists that it is in the interests of Chisinau to return to constructive communication, IPN reports.
“We are motivated to have this dialogue. As far as I know, Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Eugen Carpov, during discussions with Transnistrian colleges, agreed that such a meeting will take place in September. I’m looking forward to such a meeting as problems and interpretations appear when there is no communications and the situation become tense,” said the Premier.
Iurie Leanca voiced hope that there will be discussed not only technical problems, but also the essential issue – the status. “We are ready. A lot depends on the colleagues from Tiraspol,” he stated.
Since he was invested on May 30, Iurie Leanca hasn’t met with the Transnistrian leader.
