Prime Minister Iurie Leanca will pay a two-day visit to Italy at the end of this month. On September 28, he will go to Verona, where he will have discussions with the Moldovans from the Diaspora. The next day, the Premier will take part in a forum themed “Investment Opportunities in Moldova” in Venice, IPN reports.
According to a communiqué from the Government, the event will involve over 50 large companies form Veneto region, representatives of the Italian Government, members of diaspora associations, and the investment attraction team of the Moldovan Premier’s staff. Iurie Leanca will give a speech and will encourage the potential Italian investors to come to Moldova.
Afterward, the Prime Minister will join the diaspora in Padova for a performance staged in the square Prato della Valle. The concert will involve the band “Zdob si Zdub” and artists who settled in the peninsula. The event is organized by the association “Bastina” for the community of Moldovans and for Italians, Padova being the city that hosts the largest number of Moldovans.
The number of Moldovans in Veneto region, where the events will take place, is larger that in any of the EU remember states. In 2011, there were 157,000 Moldovans in Italy.
