The European People’s Party of Moldova will take part in the parliamentary elections of next year independently, not as part of as bloc. The party’s president Iurie Leancă said the decision is not final, but the party’s analysis line shows they should do so, IPN reports.
In the program “Emphasis on today” on TVR Moldova channel, Iurie Leancă said he personally also has time to take a decision as to his participation in the legislative elections and does not rule out the possibility that he will run in the Cimișlia single-member constituency.
The politician noted that if the Socialists come to power, a plan for federalizing the Republic of Moldova could be put into practice. Also, the deteriorated relations with the European Union will be further worsened.
Editorialist Nicolae Negru said the Party “Action and Solidarity” and the Party “Platform Dignity and Truth” will have to sit at a negotiating table together with the Democratic Party or early parliamentary elections would take place. “I don’t know if the citizens would be glad to go again to the polls and they would not suffer themselves as a result. I consider Brussels and anyone else would recommend this,” he stated.
