Before the New Year, Prime Minister Iurie Leanca took presents to children attending the Ungheni day center “House for Everyone”. The presents included sweets and logopedical equipment and a wheelchair for a 15-year-old boy who wrote to Santa Claus that he badly needs one, IPN reports, quoting a communiqué from the Government.
The center’s director Maria Chelari said the center works from 8am until 8pm and contributes to the rehabilitation, social protection, education and integration of disabled children and young people into society. “The center is a great aid for the parents of these children as they can go to work. We are making every effort to enable the children to have an occupation and to earn money. Moreover, teachers go to the home of children who cannot attend school to give lessons to them,” said the director.
The center is attended by 75 persons. The youngest is two years, while the eldest is 26.
