Iurie Leanca: Moldovan-Russian dialogue should be developed at all levels
Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Iurie Leanca, in an interview for Radio Free Europe, said that the dialogue between Moldova and Russia in 2011should be developed at all the levels, starting with the President and ending with the ministers, Info-Prim Neo reports.
“I hope that the political dialogue in the relations with Moscow and Kiev this year will be better structured. There should be organized visits at the level of Prime Ministers as there are many economic, political and commercial problems that must be discussed,” said Iurie Leanca.
The minister considers that the registration of the Moldovan citizens in Russia is a matter that should be dealt with immediately. He said that the Moldovans are given only three days for registration, while the Ukrainians are given more time for this and this is discrimination.
“We now have four years of stability. I think there are now more preconditions for a more efficient and substantial dialogue that will allow us to focus on real problems,” said Iurie Leanca.
Earlier, Acting President Marian Lupu said the Basic Treaty between Moldova and Russia that expires this year should be extended for another ten years. Prime Minister designate Vlad Filat said the Moldovan-Russian relations should be considerably improved.
