Former Prime Minister Iurie Leanca is the most indicated person for making revelations and providing information about what happened at Banca de Economii (BEM). Such an opinion was stated in the program “Place for dialogue” on the public station Radio Moldova, IPN reports.

Political analyst Alexei Tulbure considers that Iurie Leanca can easier make public the secret documents about the theft committed at the BEM. “If Iurie Leanca considers that he made a mistake, he should not wait, but take action as a man who wants to assert himself on the political arena. It is an unordinary situation and what was done is a very serious crime. If we accept Leanca’s logic that he bears no responsibility for the BEM because the decisions were taken in concert, we would not need Prime Ministers and ministers in charge of the area. Leanca cannot hide behind the collective decisions and should assume responsibility,” he stated.

Alexei Tulbure also considers that Leanca fulfilled the orders of Filat and Plahotniuc concerning the provision of a state guarantee for the loans taken out from the National Bank of Moldova for the BEM. “It’s known that the Government was the place where the decisions were implemented, not yet taken,” he said.

Political analyst Roman Mihaes also believes that the former Premier should provide details about the situation at the BEM, but the parliamentary commission of inquiry into this case should also do this. “This commission will be inefficient if it does not make public the secret documents. Iurie Leanca could make known the correspondence between the National Bank and the Government so that we see the reasons for which the executive borrowed money from the central bank for the BEM,” he stated.
