Iurie Leanca: I still hope that coalition of three pro-European parties will be yet formed

The candidate for premiership Iurie Leanca considers that a government coalition consisting of the PLDM-PDM-PL can be  formed  even after the Government is voted in. He made such a statement in a talk show on the public TV channel Moldova 1, IPN reports.

Iurie Leanca said he does not belive in the capacity of a minority government to solve the acute problems of the country and to implement reforms in such a difficult period.  ”I regret that the three pro-European parties were unable to form a coalition. I think we are all to blame for this failure, but I hope that we will obtain the votes of the Liberals and in 2-3 months we will form a majority pro-European coalition,” said the acting Premier.

He assured that if a PLDM-PDM-PL coalition is formed after the Government is invested, he will resort to the dismissal of some ministers in order to give these posts to representatives of the PL. ”It is better for some ministers to leave than for the whole Cabinet to be dismissed in 5-6 months,” he argued.

Iurie Leanca also said that he remained surprised by the conditions put forward by the PCRM when they were invited to a meeting . ”I wanted to meet with them to listen to their suggestions and proposals for the government program, but they asked that I present this program already. I will present it to them on Monday,” he stated.

He considers that the chances for him to be invested as Premier in the first round of voting are 50:50. ”I hope the members of Parliament will show wisdom and the Government will be voted in. If the Cabinet is not invested by the first round, the vote of no confidence shall mobilize us more  for forming a government coalition consisting of the three pro-European parties,” noted Leanca.
