Iurie Leanca: I came ready to undertake important commitment

The candidate for premiership Iurie Leanca said he came to the Parliament’s first sitting of the spring session ready to undertake an important commitment – Moldova should be developed so that it is prosperous and the people live better. He called on the lawmakers to give a rational vote for stability, which will show to the people that they can have confidence in the political class, IPN reports.

Iurie Leanca also said that three pro-European parties won the people’s votes in the November 30 legislative elections, but a pro-European alliance hasn’t been yet formed. “We probably all bear responsibility and are to blame for this, but now we must find solutions to make sure that we have a stable government,” he stated.

He also said that when he met with Liberal MPs the previous days, he understood that the expectations of the Liberals are not different from those of the Liberal Democratic Party that he represents, while the Government’s program for 2015-2018 covers a large part of the expectations of the three pro-European parties.

As regards the Communist faction, Iurie Leanca said he does not have concrete expectations of it because the messages of the Communists haven’t been clear so far. All the members of the Government were proposed by the pro-European parties. The voting in of the Government means the ensuring of political support for important measures such as the European integration, corruption fighting and the increase in pensions and salaries.

In the short-term, the Government’s major concerns are to remove the dangers to the internal and external security of the state, to stabilize the banking sector, to combat and punish financial frauds, to ensure balance for sustainable fiscal development and economic development, and to protect people’s incomes.

According to Iurie Leanca, the final goal of the Government is to make sure that Moldova is a powerful state that serves the people, with correct and efficient institutions that observe the principle of transparency, with the rule of law and with depoliticized law enforcement bodies.

The Government is invested by at least 52 votes of MP.
