The resolution adopted by the Council of the European Union shows the serious situation in which the Republic of Moldova is, chairman of the European People’s Party of Moldova Iurie Leanca said in the talk show “Moldova live” on the public TV channel Moldova 1, IPN reports.
“This time the text was much harsher. I can say that this was the harshest resolution on the Republic of Moldova ever. The fact that the Filip Government invited a mission of the IMF is the only positive aspect noted in this document. I think the resolution is not a surprise for us. The document shows the profound crisis in which the Republic of Moldova is,” stated the former Premier.
As to the coming of the IMF mission to Chisinau, Iurie Leanca said the negotiations with the IMF will depend on the political will of the Moldovan government. “I hope that this time nobody will tender their resignation, as it happened last autumn,” he stated.
The leader of the European People’s Party of Moldova considers the Government of Moldova will not cope without external financing. “The Republic of Moldova is in a rather difficult situation, close to a default. Prime Minister Filip said there are several schemes that would bring incomes into the budget, but these resources must be put to good use and time is needed for this,” he said.
