Iurie Leanca: Devaluation of leu should not continue at same pace as in 2014

Acting Prime Minister Iurie Leanca told the journalists that the analysis of the situation shows that the devaluation of the leu should not continue at the same pace as in 2014 and the first month of this year, IPN reports.

“I’m concerned about the situation. We had discussions in this respect and will now have another one. I haven’t yet received a clear explanation as to the reasons. The motives include the situation in the region and the devaluation in Russia,” Iurie Leanca stated on January 15.

During last year and until now, the euro appreciated from 17.9 lei to 19.5 lei, while the dollar – from 13 lei to 16.5 lei.
