Iurie Leanca calls on opponents to assume continuation of Moldova’s course to West

The candidate of the European People’s Party of Moldova (PPEM) for the office of President Iurie Leanca requested publicly the registered candidates to assume the continuation of the road to the West. In a news conference, the politician called on all the candidates to say it clearly that the Association Agreement with the EU will not be annulled, Moldova’s course to the West will not be interrupted and the country will not be pushed towards an area of uncertainty, IPN reports.

“The mobilization of all the candidates, together with the parties that they represent, around the Association Agreement will be a powerful signal to the West that we want to go on the path of modernization, justice and reforms. We must attract again attention to ourselves and show that we really want to receive institutional and financial support from our European friends. I ask each candidate to publicly promise to the voters that they will maintain and apply the Association Agreement with the European Union,” stated Iurie Leanca.

According to the leader of the PPEM, the pro-EU option of Moldova is not only an ideological and identity option, but also the only rational and logical option. The mobilization of all the candidates and parties that support them around the Association Agreement will be a powerful signal of the wish to follow the path to modernization, justice and reforms.
