The PDM generated the rupture inside the ruling alliance in Chisinau and should thus formulate attractive proposals for the PLDM so as to involve it into governance, Iulian Chifu, adviser to former President of Romania Traian Basescu, said over the phone during the talk show “Moldova live” on the public TV channel Moldova 1, IPN reports.

However, Chifu is pessimistic about the PDM’s chances of attracting the PLDM into the future government. “My experience prevents me from being too confident. At least now, there are preconditions showing that the PLDM will not take part in the future alliance. From my viewpoint, the PDM should remedy the situation and should think up a package of attractive proposals for the PLDM. I don’t know yet what these proposals for the PLDM could be,” said the former presidential adviser.

Iulian Chifu warned that a mosaic government could be formed in Chisinau, which could thwart the geopolitical course. “The no-confidence motion passed last week was an anti-European one. The IMF, the EU and Moldova’s population too wait for serious reforms. The PDM is obliged to correct the mistake it made,” he said.
