The historical, architectural and religious sights of Moldova will be included in a tourist circuit for economically developing the regions where they are situated. The project will be implemented by a team of Italian specialists. The project was discussed by Deputy Speaker Adrian Candu with members of the Toscana Regional Council and representatives of Italian universities. The meeting was attended by Italy’s Ambassador to Moldova Enrico Nunziata, IPN reports.
Currently, a number of Italian specialists are implementing a project to restore the Causeni church “Assumption of the Virgin”. The ambassador said that the Italian authorities intend to attract European funds in order to support cultural projects in Moldova.
The Toscana Regional Council aims to stage an exhibition of Moldovan icons in Florenta this autumn. The Italian authorities also plan to organize wine tasting events in Moldova and Italy and other joint events. Furthermore, Italian specialists in restoration of objects of art will give a seminar to train Moldovan specialists in this field.
The meeting participants conferred on the results achieved by Moldova in the European integration process and the prospects of the Vilnius summit of this November for developing the Moldovan-Italian relations.
