Italian premiere at National Theater “Mihai Eminescu”

The play “Primo”, with Jacob Olesen, directed by Giovanni Calo based on the book “If This Is a Man” by Primo Levi, will be premiered in Chisinau on October 31. Those who are fond of arts are awaited at the National Theater “Mihai Eminescu” starting at 6pm. Entrance is free of charge, IPN reports.

According to the Embassy of Italy in Chisinau, the initiative is designed to familiarize the public with writer Primo Levi, chemist and intellectual attentive to the needs of new generations who survived almost a year in Auschwitz. Primo Levi’s works contribute to keeping the memory of the victims and of the past as a factor for building the future.

Jacob Olesen is an actor of Swedish and Danish origin who has been present on Italian stages for over 30 years.

The play was produced in cooperation with the Theater of Rome and was already presented in Italy, Poland, Austria, Romania, Albania, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Russia, and Germany. In Chisinau, this will be subtitled in Romanian, Russian and English.

The event is organized by the Embassy of Italy in Chisinau and the Swiss Cooperation Office and is held as part of the 18th Italian Language Week in the World.
