Having received Moldova's citizenship, Italian Mirko Deflorian has been authorized to represent our country in alpine skiing competitions, Info-Prim Neo reports. The Italian has thus joined other two non-native Moldovan skiers, the Switzerland-born Christophe Roux and Urs Imboden. Though with a modest track record, Mirko Deflorian told a news conference today in Chisinau that he is very determined to win medals for Moldova. Petru Bria, the president of the National Skiing Federation, praised the professional skills of the 30-year-old skier. The Federation also counts on Deflorian to train younger skiers.
