A number of cultural events to promote the Italian culture will take place within the Italian Culture Week in Chisinau during May 26 and June 2. The initiative is at its fourth edition and aims to support the promotion of the Italian language and artistic heritage, IPN reports.

An exhibition entitled “Pinocchio” will be opened at the National Museum of Ethnography and Natural History at 4pm on May 26. On May 27, the Museum will also host an exhibition by laureates of the national contest of plastic arts “Pinocchio intended for minors” that is staged in cooperation with the school of arts “A.Schusev” at 11am.

Italian artists Livia Rigano (piano) and Mariateresa Battistella (clarinet) will give a classical music concert in the Big Hall of the National Philharmonic at “Sergey Lunkevich” at 4pm on May 28.

The Municipal Library “B.P.Hasdeu” will host an event by Fabio Minazzi and Stefania Barile, professors of the International Center Insubrico of the University of Insubria of Varese, starting at 5pm on May 29. A contest entitled “Expressive reading of Pinocchio tale” in the Romanian will take place at the same library at 3pm on May 30.

On May 31, at 4pm, the library “Onisifor Ghibu will host the launch the volume “Pinocchio rediscovered. The courage of recognizing oneself as a puppet” by Savino Roggia. On the International Children’s Day on June 1, children will be able to showcase their talent in an arts lab at the library, starting at 11am. The same day, Odeon Cinema will screen the film “Pinocchio” with Romanian subtitles.

On the last day of the Italian Culture Week, the organizers invite to a ceremony to award the laureates of the contest “Scopri l’Italia tra le pagine di un libro” at “Onisifor Ghibu” library. The week ends with the awarding of the laureates of the national contest of plastic arts “Pinocchio intended for minors” starting at 3pm.

Entrance to the events is free of charge. The Italian Culture Week in Moldova is organized by the Foundation for Social Promotion “COPILUL” (“Child”).
