Roberto Bordin became the new coach of Sheriff Tiraspol. The 51-year-old Italian replaced French coach Bruno Irles, who was dismissed, IPN reports.
Bordin played in Series A for Atalanta, Napoli, and Piacenza. As a coach, he has long worked as the assistant of Andrea Mandorlini at Bologna, Padova, Siena, Sassuolo, CFR Cluj and Hellas Verona. At Hellas, he trained also Artur Ionita. As a senior coach, Bordin made his debut this year, with Triestina, of the fourth league of Italy.
Bordin will make his debut at Sheriff in the encounter with Petrocub in Hancesti on October 16. The match forms part of the 11th stage of the National Division. Sheriff is a leader and has the same number of points as Milsami.
