“Moldova Noastra” (MNA) Alliance actively promotes the creation of alliances between democratic forces in the district and local councils, although the talks are difficult and the previous experiences have generated a lack of mutual trust, starting with the negative results of the vote made on April 4, 2005, Serafim Urecheanu, the leader of MNA told a news conference on June 12. According to Urecheanu, it is the time to leave to the history the results of the pro-Voronin vote made on April 4, 2005. “We are forced to take the lessons of the past into consideration, but we should look forward in order to build a European, democratic and wealthy future in Moldova”, he mentioned. According to Urecheanu, the communists have lost the elections and voters, so that the democratic forces have to prove they won the elections. At the same time, the MNA leader said the signal coming from 3 social-democratic parties is positive but insufficient, both for the creation of a social-democrat pole in Moldova and for the creation of a large and stable anticommunist coalition. In what concerns the social-liberal pole, MNA says it is open for a merger with other parties, in case they will understand they should join the party with the highest share of voters for the parliamentary elections which will be organised in 2009. Although, according to Urecheanu, pushing the idea of negotiations is not recommended at the moment, MNA pleads for strengthening the alliance of democratic forces, alliance which will start from the local public bodies. At the same time, the test which will show if the results of the recent elections are respected by the democratic forces will be the way the laws which will make the European integration real are promoted in the Parliament. During the conference, Urecheanu reiterated that MNA will support in the second round ballot non-communist candidates, including in the municipality of Chisinau.
