MEP Monica Macovei said it is important that the agreements that are vital for Moldova’s integration into the EU be initialed in 2013, IPN reports, quoting a statement issued by the European official.
Monica Macovei voiced her confidence and hope that Vlad Filat, who was designated as a candidate for the post of Prime Minister of Moldova, will be able to form a new government of the Alliance for European Integration, which will prolong the progress made by Moldova. “In the negotiations that take place, the involved persons and parties should find a solution to maintain Moldova’s European course, putting the national interest above the party or personal interests,” said Monica Macovei.
She reminded that 2013 is the year when an irreversible change towards the EU can be made by initialing the Visa Liberalization Agreement, the Association Agreement and the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Agreement. According to Monica Macovei, nothing is more important than the initialing of these agreements on the scheduled date, during the Eastern Partnership Summit that will take place in Vilnius on November 29-30.
The MEP said the Alliance for European Integration 3 must be formed as quickly as possible so that the political crisis is solved and the possibility of early elections is eliminated.
