Issue of kiosks in agenda again
Two kiosks appeared overnight in Chisinau’s Botanica and Ciocana districts following a decision whereby the Court of Appeals annulled an older ordinance to take down a number of booths made by Mayor Dorin Chirtoaca.
The kiosks belong to a chain of cake shops and were removed last spring as they had been set up illegally, Info-Prim Neo reports.
“Long live our justice, which is the fairest in the world,” said Mayor Dorin Chirtoaca, commenting on the court’s decision. “As far as I know, the documents were forged and there were used illegal schemes to put up kiosks. There were no legal reasons for the court to take such a decision.”
The heads of Botanica and Ciocana districts said they signed no order allowing replacing the kiosks. The City Hall appealed the Court of Appeals’ decision to the Supreme Court of Justice.
In March 2010, the local authorities ordered taking away five kiosks selling cakes as they did not have the documents allowing them to sell and occupied an area larger than permitted.
