Israel's Sahar wasn't hurt by stadium faucet, says FMF
The Moldovan Football Federation (FMF) on Wednesday dismissed reports that Israel's forward Ben Sahar suffered a serious injury in the match Moldova-Israel after he encountered an irrigation faucet behind the sideline of Zimbru's pitch.
“We didn't receive any objection from the Israeli Federation after the qualifier played on Zimbru Stadium in Chisinau on September 10. These are mere inventions by some journalists trying to stir up winds”, FMF's spokesperson Victor Daghi said.
Earlier, several domestic media institutions argued Chelsea London was entitled to sue the Moldovan Federation for the reckless conduct of Zimbru's staff, which allegedly caused the injury.
According to the report by the Spanish referee team, headed by Cesar Munidis, who officiated the match in Chisinau, Zimbru Stadium met all standards fixed by FIFA and UEFA and no objections existed, Info-Prim Neo reports.
