Israel’s independence celebrated in Chisinau for the first time

The 64th anniversary of Israel’s independence was celebrated in Chisinau for the first time by a concert at the National Philharmonic on May 20. The event was opened by a speech given by the non-resident Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Israel to Moldova Oren David, Info-Prim Neo reports. ”The independence of Israel is very important to our country. That’s why we attach great importance to this event every year. This year, we decided to stage a typically Israeli concert on the 64th anniversary of Israel’s independence so as to bring the culture of our country as close to Moldova as possible,” said the ambassador. Oren David approved of the visit paid by Prime Minister Vlad Filat and a delegation of seven Moldovan ministers to Israel, on the occasion of 20 years of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two states. Oren David, who is based in Bucharest, is paying a two-day official visit to Chisinau on May 20-21.
