The Greco-Roman wrestler Donior Islamov won bronze at the UWW European Wrestling Championships held in the Russian city of Kaspiysk, IPN reports.

In the match for the bronze medal in the 63 kg weight class, the 28-year-old athlete beat Croatia’s Ivan Lizatovic 2-1. Islamov also won bronze at the European Championships of 2016. At the competition in Kaspiysk, he also defeated Turkey’s Rahman Bilici and Armenia’s Slavik Galstyan, but lost to Stig-Andre Berge of Norway in the semifinals.

In the 72 kg class, Daniel Cataraga will compete in the playoffs as he was beaten by Azerbaijan’s Rasul Chunayev in the quarterfinals. Victor Ciobanu, Valeriu Toderean, Igor Besleaga and Viorel Burduja scored no victory.
