Iskra drop out of CIS Cup

Iskra-Stal Rabnita have dropped out of the Commonwealth of Independent States Cup, which is taking place in Sankt Petersburg, Russia, Info-Prim Neo reports. The Moldovan vice champions lost the decisive game against Inter Baku from Azerbaijan, on Wednesday, January 18. Amiraslanov grabbed a late winner (min.80) for Inter. In the other match of the group, Istiklol Tadjikistan trashed Neftci Kirgizstan 5-0. Inter finished on top of the group with 9 points. Istiklol and Iskra gathered 4 points each, but the Azeri team qualified due to a better goal difference. Neftci failed to win any points and finished at the bottom of the group. Iskra Stal were the fifth Moldovan team to participate in CIS Cup. In 2000, Zimbru reached the final, while Sheriff won it in 2003 and 2009. Dacia represented Moldova in 2010.
