The Supreme Court of Justice upheld the Balti Court of Appeals’ decision of December 2014 by which judge Nicolae Nogai is put on probation for a three-year period and banned from holding the post of judge during a five-year period, IPN reports.
The Prosecutor General’s Office reminds that the judge illegally legalized the decision of the ad-hoc tribunal of Saint Petersburg concerning the sale of shareholdings in BC “Moldova Agroindbank” SA. The judge’s decision was later annulled by the higher court as illegal.
The first court acquitted the judge in April 2014. The prosecutor general asked transferring the case to the Balti Appeals Court, which last December convicted the judge.
