Irregularities identified in Chisinau camps

Medicines with the use-by date expired, too many beds in one room or absence of fire extinguishers are among the irregularities identified at some of the municipal summer camps. A commission constituted by order of the deputy mayor of Chisinau Nistor Grozavu examined the medical units, the education process, the anti-fire and medical-sanitary situation in camps during June 13-16, 2017, IPN reports.

Head of the Chisinau Health Division Mihai Moldovanu, in the June 19 meeting of officials of municipal services, said it was determined that not all the medial units updated the scheme for warning about a worsening of the epidemiological state, group food poisoning or other emergencies. Drugs with the use-by date expired were found in some of the medical units.

It was also established that not all the summer camps have fire extinguishers, while in some of these the extinguishers weren’t put in visible and easily accessible places. Not all the educators could tell about the primary intervention methods. The anti-fire panels weren’t set up as required. Panels with the 901 emergency number were absent.

Mihai Moldovanu said there were no second evacuation ways at the camps with old-type small houses. In some of the houses, the number of beds was too high. For example, there were 20 children in an area that was 35-40 square meters and the evacuation way was thus blocked.

The managers were informed about the irregularities. These are to take measures to deal with them.
