The Bashkan of Gagauzia Irina Vlah reacted to the statements made by MP Iurie Reniță. “I do not have and never had a cousin called Valentin Vlah whom, as Reniţă asserted, I promoted to the post of ambassador of the Republic of Moldova to Azerbaijan,” the governor posted on her Facebook page, being quoted by IPN.

According to Irina Vlah, MP Iurie Reniță uses the Parliament’s rostrum and the high status of national elected official to disseminate defamatory information. “The accusations made by the MP against me are a product of his imagination and do not match the reality. I regret that MP Iurie Reniță makes false statement instead of solving the pressing problems faced by the voters of his constituency,” wrote Irina Vlah.

In a press briefing, Iurie Reniță said that Valentin Vlah, who is the cousin of the incumbent governor of Gagauzia Irina Vlah, is to be nominated as Moldova’s ambassador to Azerbaijan instead of Emil Jacotă.
