The Moldovan wrestler Irina Rîngaci has become U23 world champion. At the U23 World Championships in Tirana, Albania, Rîngaci scored four victories in the 65 kg category, against India’s Monika, Turkey’s Busra Efe, the American Macey Ellen Kilty and the neutral athlete Amina Tandelova.
In the 53 kg category, Mariana Draguțan snatched the silver medal. In the finals, she was outperformed by Japan’s Mako Oono. Andrei Chiperi’s pupil managed to beat Romania’s Beatrice Ferent and the Kazakh Altyn Shagayeva.
The Greco-Roman competitions will take place over the weekend.
