According to the author, unionism in Moldova shows signs of consolidation, but Russia does not have a pronounced position on this. The politologist said that as long as the unionist movement firmly pleads for the union with Romania, the regions dominated by philo-Russian groups reserve the right to seek help from Russia if Moldova disappears as a state entity. The balance-of-trade deficit of the Republic of Moldova shows that the county needs prudence in developing its production and export capacities and to also provide skilled labor force and to protect investors. For Moldova, it is very important to first of all conquer the domestic market of goods and services, programs director of the Institute for Development and Social Initiative “Viitorul” Viorel Chivriga stated in a TV program. According to him, the orientation of exports to the Western markets was influenced by the change in Moldovan companies’ views as these started to promote goods and services of a high quality. The Munich Security Conference held last week confirmed that Russia is becoming increasingly authoritarian and does not take into account the interests of the state with which it should have partnership relations, Liberal MP Roman Botan, who heads the parliamentary commission on national security, defense and public order, stated in a TV program.
