Ion Tăbârță: Most probably, Shor’s scenarios will be implemented, but where there is Shor there is Plahotniuc

Expert in political sciences Ion Tăbârță said that in the immediate period we could witness a change in the PSRM’s rhetoric. It is highly improbable that the governmental team proposed by Natalia Gavrilița will obtain a vote of confidence from Parliament and, after the first attempt to vote in the Government fails, a Government proposed by representatives of the Shor Party could be installed, IPN reports.

“Most probably, Shor’s scenarios will be implemented, but we must understand that where there is Shor there is Plahotniuc. Pressure us now being exerted on Igor Dodon so that a Government that us the expression of the informal coalition that appeared at the end of the previous session is voted in and this Government would work and would this way annul the snap elections,” Ion Tăbârță stated in the talk show “Emphasis on Today” on TVR Moldova channel.

At the same time, the swift installment of a Government will full powers is needed for overcoming the current economic and pandemic crisis.

“We should have a fully-fledged Government swiftly as there are enough problems in the Republic of Moldova caused by the pandemic, with all its socioeconomic effects, the problems in agriculture. The faster we have a Government with full powers, which would discuss with the development partners, the better,” stated the expert.

Ion Tăbârță noted that snap parliamentary elections are needed for changing the political class in Moldova and for clearing Parliament of corrupt people.

“If we really want to change something, we need snap elections as soon as possible. We now see a positive trend in society, which requires a change and which maintains the popularity of Maia Sandu and, in general, of the political right.”

The candidate for Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilița submitted her government program and the list of Cabinet members proposed by her to the Parliament’s Secretariat. Under the law, the Parliament’s Standing Bureau must come together and decide the date of the plenary sitting when the Gavrilița Government will ask for a vote of confidence from the MPs.
