Igor Dodon is playing with the fire, Vlad Plahotniuc is the “supreme leader” of the Republic of Moldova and a part of former and current high-ranking officials could be jailed for the “theft of US$ 1 billion”, ex-Premier Ion Sturza stated in the program “In Depth” on PRO TV Chisinau channel, IPN reports.

Referring to the Head of State, Sturza said this risks ending up as the former President of Ukraine Victor Yanukovych. “Dodon is a useful tool of the Russian propaganda. He is playing with the fire. Even if these represent less than 50%, there are yet people in the Republic of Moldova for whom particular values matter. And this category is very active. We should not forget that Maia Sandu in the presidential elections gained a very good score without many resources,” he stated.

Ion Sturza also said that a number of former and current high-ranking officials must be jailed for the theft form the banking system. “Those who are in power were definitely involved in this theft. I think we will ultimately see former and current Presidents in jail. They must answer for what they did. Igor Dodon was financed by Ilan Shor. Did he know that this money was stolen? Didn’t Petru Luchinski know that the money was stolen when he accepted to take it to buy shares?” asked the businessman.

“The whole Moldovan elite, not only the political one, were involved in the banking fraud, while Shor is under house arrest and enjoys himself in his porno studio on the last floor, while teachers or school principals are imprisoned.”

According for the former Prime Minister, fear engulfed Moldovan society. “The people fear to talk. Many are stressed. It is a psychological element caused by the supreme leader of Moldova Vlad Plahotniuc,” said Ion Sturza.
